Can the DNS Failover service alert me if there is an issue or if one of my servers goes down?

Yes, absolutely! The DNS Failover service supports a multitude of different monitoring types that you can create and assign to two of the different servers in your failover pool. Each server can use a ‘global’ monitor you configure for the pool, a unique custom monitor, and it can even be set to skip monitoring altogether, essentially forcing it to be up and online all of the time.

But beyond basic monitoring, you can create and attach alert lists and receive email or SMS notifications when servers go down, come back up and more. An alert list can consist of users within your organization, with or without mobile numbers for SMS, or even distribution lists. The flexibility of the monitors and alerting we offer is unsurpassed in the industry.

If you have any questions at all about using monitors or alert lists, do not hesitate to contact us! We’re here 24×7 to help you.
