Cloud Platform Release v21.12.0

Today we released cloud platform version 21.12.0 which includes a new WAN Optimization feature as well as a few bug fixes. Below is a list of the most notable changes you will find in this release.

• WAN Optimization: We released a new feature today to help improve network throughput across the ADC-as-a-Service platform where large object transfers are required and increased throughput is needed to improve lossy connections.
  
  

  Some of our customers use the platform for file downloads where caching or other optimizations are not desired for different reasons. The WAN Optimization feature employs TCP multiplexing, window scaling, Nagle’s algorithm and a variety of other techniques to optimize throughput on the fly to provide the highest level of performance based on various network conditions between the client and the intermediate Total Uptime POP as well as the back-end service and the intermediate Total Uptime POP.
  
  

  Below is a screenshot of the back-end service where you can find the WAN Optimization setting. It is configurable on a per-port/protocol basis for granular control.
  
  

  
  
  

• Delete ACL Warning: We improved the UI to provide better warnings/alerts for when the outer delete button is selected in the Access Control List (ACL) section. This should prevent accidental deleting of an entire ACL when the intention was to only delete a single entry instead.
  
  
• DNS Null MX Record: We corrected UI and API validation that would prevent the creation of a NULL MX record. While not used often, the value of fully supporting this feature is important to help mitigate spam and spoofing wherever possible.
